Suggest some new music for me. I am tired of the same CDs and the radio is VERY old as well.

Singer-songwriters: Teddy Thompson, Grant-Lee Phillips, Carrie Akre, and the new Aimee Mann is good.

Not a big Sparta fan. As for the rest of the suggestions and I am searching for samples.

How about some old music? There was a lot of great stuff produced in the '80s and early '90s that has been largely forgotten.. what are your tastes? What do you currently like?

Hmm... I liked 80's metal and hair bands. My taste is pretty much everything. I will listen to anything from country to rap but I prefer alternative music.

What do I currently like?

Adelayda
Sugarcult
Saliva
Breaking Benjamin
Counting Crows
Taproot
Maroon5
Toby Keith
Red Hot Chili Peppers

lots of stuff...

Some of the stuff that I've been listening to that I really like

30 Seconds to Mars
Audioslave (great CD)
Audiovent
Blindside
Buddy Guy (friend sent me this; some good bluesey stuff, I like it a lot)
Chevelle (one of my faves right now; going to see them a couple times next month)
Dezeray's Hammer (local band, may be hard to find)
Foo Fighters (really like the new album)
Joe Satriani has a recent album that's good stuff
John Mayer
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Life of Agony
Mad at Gravity (love these guys)
Nonpoint
Queens of the Stone Age
Sevendust (listening to this a lot lately)
Taproot
TRUSTcompany (seeing them with Chevelle)
The Used is great stuff

Most of these bands have radio play, but in most cases, their singles aren't my favorite tracks on the album and most of these albums are good all the way through.

Chevelle is awesome. Maybe I'll turn that on after I get done listening to The Used. :) Can't wait to see Chevelle. Was going to see them right before Thanksgiving, but our plans fell through :(

I'm all for indie pop/space rock-- its atmospheric, light, and really melodic without the abrasiveness and brashness of lo-fi indie... its really good laid-back listening

death cab for cutie has a really sincere sound to it
pinback has a really soft sound too
mogwai -less vocals, light textures

then some other stuff:
jets to brazil
badly drawn boy
ben kweller
beulah
spoon
the anniversary

definately look for death cab for cutie first... and beulah too..real good stuff.. ill post some to my ftp
