Hey guys, i'm a huge fan of games and am putting together a new system within a few weeks. I would just like to suggestions on games you guys like. Here are a few to give you an idea of the games i've loved throughout the years.

Quake 3
Counterstrike Source
Half Life 1 and 2
Far cry
Star Wars: Republic commando
GTA san andreas/vice city .... all of em =)
Starcraft
Warcraft 3
Diablo 2 LOD
I love scrolling shooter games like Raptor and old Raiden but i dont think they make those anymore

I would say my favorites are FPS games. I also really love fighting games but they don't make those for comps unfortunately (as far as i know)

Thanks in advance guys =)

Serious Sam is such a stupid game. Honestly...its stupidity is on the level of Kill Bill's fountains of blood. :)

I completely disagree. I have both the first and second encounter and they are both great.

NOT stupid. :Q

you just didn't "get" it :p

Perhaps not for everyone . . . Serious Sam is a "twitch shooter" with incredible amounts of enemies onscreen at once AND with the weapons capable of dealing MASSIVE damage. Huge bosses and Co-op mode. Plus the Serious Engine runs well and looks good [cartoony but good] on mid-level systems. The humour is 7th/8th grade. :p

Painkiller is similar with great sky-boxes and gfx plus lots of enemies at once but also with REplay value in unlockable levels and alternate endings plus some really crazy 'hidden secrets . . . PK and BoOH actually have some depth with undocumented weapons combos and the Havok 2.0 physisc Engine.

I'm playing Painkiller right now and love it. I never did finish either SS:FE or SS:SE but both are great games. I just got tired of the same wave of enemy after enemy.

Painkiller is much of the same, but not as many enemies at once. As appopin mentioned, the game does have a suprising amount of depth with the weapon combos and unlockable Tarot cards/endings. I really didn't think I'd stick with Painkiller, but I'll definately be finishing it and picking up the expansion.

You've played some of the best FPS out now, but here's my .02.....

I have to second some military FPS as this is a different genre a bit and you don't have any listed - Call of Duty, MOHAA, and the Battlefields....

Also have to second Painkiller. Thought I would be just playing it for a few weeks to hold me over until some new FPS come out and I am enjoying it alot right now. I too will probably pick up the expansion. The Unreals are decent also.

If you haven't played Doom III you probably should just to see what all the fuss is about. It's kind of hit or miss for most people though.

I always recommend Deus Ex, System Shock 2 and the Thief series as well as they break up the monotony of standard shoot em up FPS.

Lastly, Max Payne 1 & 2 are pretty cheap right now. And bullet time is pretty cool :)

Check my Fs thread too ;)
