Suggest some new games you guys have tried please

Hey guys, i'm a huge fan of games and am putting together a new system within a few weeks. I would just like to suggestions on games you guys like. Here are a few to give you an idea of the games i've loved throughout the years.

Quake 3
Counterstrike Source
Halflife 2
Far cry
Star Wars: Republic commando
GTA san andreas/vice city .... all of em =)
Starcraft
Warcraft 3
Diablo 2 LOD
I love scrolling shooter games like Raptor and old Raiden but i dont think they make those anymore

I would say my favorites are FPS games. I also really love fighting games but they don't make those for comps unfortunately (as far as i know)

im playing through halflife 2 right now, and that game is absolutely the best game i have every played or seen for that matter. An absolute must for any fan of any genre of games

meh. i can't get into it. it moves too slow.

HL2 is good. Very good. Its odd, i love rpgs when im not online, but love shooters when i am. Is that weird?

actually, i could see that... but i seriously just marvel at the graphics, and how dang interactive the thing is to worry to much about story progression

Well, I played HL2 right after I beat Doom3....everyone told me HL2 was much better, I was sorely disappointed. After going from the absolutely intense immersion of doom, I just couldn't get into HL2, even if it was more detailed.

you are one of the VERY FEW that liked Doom3.

i found Doom3 totally banal and boring even though i "tried" all the suggestions [surround sound 'up'; in the dark, etc.] the only thing i liked was the gfx.

anyway, Chronicles of Riddick is my GotY for '04.

D3 wasnt that good either..

Far Cry was best from them imho with that HD thing enabled!
