Yes :)

I'd say we'll be doing a bit of the first thing you mentioned. But we'd certainly like to take advantage of the night life. We both enjoy going out and getting a few (too many) drinks and cutting loose.

Where does everyone suggest for fun night life?

Also, I'd appreciate comments on the crowds at the resorts. I'd rather not be somewhere overrun by little kids and stuff. Nothing wrong with kids in general, but I'd rather not deal with that on my honeymoon. Also like to avoid college kids. THat was one thing about Sandals that sounded good was the couples only thing.

Thanks.
Don't go where we went, then. We ended up at the local strip club not once but twice during our stay because we wanted to keep drinking after the resort bar closed... :D

My ex-roommate went to Sandals(i think it's actually called Beaches) in Turks and Caicos... They liked it so much that they ended up buying a condo down there. It's still being built but once it's done I'll be heading down there myself to check the place out.

My sister just went last year with her husband and 2 sons, and they loved it.

Here's the link:

What places in the Caribbean have good night life? I guess if I go with Sandals I will inquire about how late the bars are open (or if they close)

The RIU's have a fully stocked fridge in your room, and a liquor dispenser (I think it was vodka, rum, whisky, gin and something else). There was also a bar that was open 24 hours, so if you wanted a beer or something and finished all the beer in your room, you were ok.

I was in bed around 10 each night because we were up early each morning.

Keep in mind that many of the Caribbean islands are essentially third world countries with pockets of luxury. Step off the resort and you are in some rough areas. There are obviously exceptions, but stumble off at your own risk.

The clubs on the resort itself at Sandals Antigua were open until around 2:00AM. They had a country western bar (I think), a piano lounge (where we hung out mostly) and disco/dance club. Then they just had the normal bar right out on the beach that was open until then as well were you could just grab a drink and sit out under the stars and listen to the ocean.

Two words. French Polynesia.

Two more words. Bora Bora

If you can afford it, you will not regret it.

thanks for the suggestions, but both are too far. That is why we decided against Hawaii. We live near Baltimore, and a 12-20 hour flight isn't really how we want to spend our honeymoon.

I've had a lot of fun at Sandals and would definitely recommend it. Also been to the Moon Palace in Cancun...not saying we had a bad time but I wouldn't recommend it vs Sandals.

I vote for Bermuda, we had a great time! There is PLENTY to do if you don't want to hide out in your room, and its very safe! We didn't go out to any bars or anything, but I believe they have some good ones from what I read. Its not cheap, but IMO its worth it to go somewhere clean and safe.

Edit: based on internet information the bars and night clubs are open til 3am.

Any of the Caribbean islands or the Cancun/Riviera Maya area will have some very good all inclusives. Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is nice.
