Situation: no available broadband for at least 2-3 years.

Satellite is an option but not good for games so I have been told.

Used to play rougue spear a lot a few years back but not recently.

any suggestions for a good fps game for modem users?

peace

I used to get by in Soldier of Fortune II just fine on dialup. Q3-based games are generally easiest and if you find a good server, UT2k3/4 is fine also. 2-3 years, that's rough considering how far things have come....I remember when it took that long for mine, but now I finally have it.

Still not really 'recommended', although in BF1942 we have a guy in Poland on dialup who kicks some ass (although punkbuster keeps kicking him for high ping)

thanks for the suggestions

will try out UTK3/4

I have pretty good modem connection 45-49,000

Definition of playable: not get kicked out, I lake to be able to hit what I see and shoot at.

I remember my ghost recon days emptying a clip on a player who is standing still and suddenly realize he has actually left the area 5 seconds ago and has also been trying to kill me for the past 30 seconds. This is about hte time i get booted.
