Suggest me a multilingual CMS please

I'm looking for some help on choosing the right CMS to build a miltilingual web site. I would like to save the trouble of reinventing the wheel and putting too much effort into a problem that may have already been solved. Familiarized myself with DotNetNuke and PHPNuke so far, installed them both and rummaged around the settings etc. googled a bit also, but couldn't find a complete CMS that would be able to display content (!) in multiple languages depending on the language selected. I read that the PHPNuke has a kind of solution but it would require the user to choose the language for every objects present on the page (if I understood it correctly). There are certain modules for DotNetNuke that are able to handle such a task. Ofc, if there's no other chance, I can write the modules myself but I'm not very fond of this idea because I'm an incredibly lazy man. It's not principal for the CMS to be either PHP or ASP based, both would be ok.

- lots of modules available (to save the effort)
- free (preferably)
- multilingual content display (the most imperative attribute)

Anyone has any experience with such multilingual CMS solutions, any suggestions?
