Suggest me a ~$100 SSD

I'm ready to get my first SSD and I'd appericiate a comment from someone in the know. It's to be used as an OS drive mainly. The most drive intensive thing I'll do is probably multi-track audio editing allocating SSD space for cache.

Is the OCZ Agility 3 60GB a good choice?

I've just picked up the Patriot Pyro 120gb for 180$. They should have similar 60gb for about half the price.

Thanks, I've already seen that page but it left me with some questions...
Anyway after doing more reseach I've decided on the Crucial m4 64GB. OCZ/Sandforce reliability figures I saw were disconcerting:thumbsdown:

Finally up and running with the Crucial m4. Only used two tools to migrate my Windows 7 install: PartedMagic from copying data, alignment and Windows 7 install disc for fixing the boot manager. System response is markedly improved, certainly less lockups than before.:thumbsup:

I've been trying to decide between Intel 320, Crucial M4, and Samsung 470. Looking for the highest reliability out of all, performance second, and cost third, although it could be nearly second. Intel is kinda expensive.

Samsung has a brand new controller that has yet to be reviewed (AFAIK). According to forumers at storagereview.com it might just be worth waiting for. To me this means I might just regret my purchase. At least the m4 seems to be a good choice at this time from what I've gathered. FWIW

You should've already bought a Crucial M4 by now, then. The latest firmware brings performance upgrades, too. It now gets significantly higher sequential read speeds and is comparable in that area to SF-2281. It has slower writes, but that's not a big concern with a 60-64GB drive.

In terms of the three you mention, here's how they stack up:

Reliability: Crucial M4=Samsung 470>Intel 320
Performance: Crucial M4>Samsung 470>Intel 320
Cost: Crucial M4>Samsung 470>Intel 320

The main reason that I've been holding off, is that only Intel, so far that I've seen, has FDE. It's inexcusable that these other companies don't include that. There's no reason not to encrypt the physical NAND level, because unlike a HD, there is no way to truly erase an SSD.

(I don't want someone stealing my SSN, or my online passwords, etc.)

Why would you write these documents on your boot drive? :\

Perhaps use the privacy feature on your browser when going to your online banking site and what not?
