Just picked up the Q9550 on sale at MC. I've reviewed the various coolers but can't seem to decide :p I would like to overclock pretty good, but not extreme.

Seems like a lot of new coolers hitting the market (Cogage Arrow, TR Venomous X, Noctua NH-D14, and coming Prolimatech Armageddon), in addition to "golden oldies" w/ double fans like the Scythe Mujen-2, Prolimatech Mega, TR TRUE 120 C. New ones don't usually have LGA 775 testing available.

I'd like it not to be too loud (i.e., moderate RPM not extreme fans), and I'd like to hedge my bet with something possibly usable on one of the newer platforms in the future. Would consider possibly better bang for the buck too, such as the Mugen-2 w/2fans, but something to be said for ease of installation & future platform compatibilities.

So, suggestions? Personal experience? I'm putting it in an ANTEC P-180 or P-182 case, on a Gigabyte EP45-UD3R mb.

I am in the process of of installing a Q9550 and a Corsair H50 in an antec p180 right now... we'll see how it goes.

The P180 doesn't have as much room as you'd think for being such a large case, I am unable to do a 'push-pull' config on the h50 and I'd say a giant tower heatsink would be cramped as well (though those would be cramped in any case).

Mugen2 best bang for buck. Unless you want really high overclocks (unless you REALLY are going to use that extra speed), then I would recommend the D14 or Megashadow
