I am planning a budget gaming rig.

Will get either of these two processors-----
(1) i5 3550
(2) i5 3470

QUESTION--- Which is more worthy among these two?
(I am not into wild overclock, intel's turbo will do just fine IMO.)

I will get either of these two boards------
(1) ASUS P8Z77-V
(2) P8Z77-V LE

QUESTION--- Which board among the two shall I get and why? Please explain.
I am on a tight budget. Please don't suggest anything which goes over to another higher price range. :(

The i5-3550 and the i5-3470 CPU's are almost identical in specification. The only difference is that the i5-3550 has a faster clock (3.3GHz) than the i5-3470 (at 3.2GHz). If it can be afforded get the (faster) i5-3550 CPU.

The two Asus motherboards are similar in specification but with minor changes in expansion slots plus some other minor changes. The P8Z77-V also has Wi-Fi, which is not necessary for gaming. So the more appropriate board should be the P8Z77-V LE.

P8Z77-V has 8+4 phase VRM
P8Z77-V LE has 6+2 phase VRM

Do you think 6+2 will be enough for i5-3550?

The P8Z77-V LE (with it's slightly reduced VRM phase count) should be fine for this system.

Thanks for your help buddy. If there is significant price difference of these two models then I will get the LE or else the standard V :)
