ECS - K7SEM Mainboard [ 266 FSB ] - With AMR MODEM - Retail Boxed 2 Year Warranty
SIS 730S Chipset, Socket A, [266 FSB] Max Memory - 1GB, 4X AGP, Sound & Lan With Modem $73.

I've built four of these and extremely happy with all.

MSI 6340M is definitely a good choice, rock-solid stability, KT133A chipset, no problems.
Another possibility is Soltek 75KIV, very similar to MIS 6340.

The ECS will probably be a bit cheaper, but I've also had excellent luck with the MSI KM133 board. Excellent stability. I've used them to replace a bunch of old Pentium boards at work and they're all running great. NT drivers suck, but Win9X, 2K work fine. Also, I'm actually typing this on one in WinXP and it works great. Don't know what the video drivers are like in WinXP though since I have a Radeon in there.

ECS K5S7a SiS 735 chipset. Pretty much a no brainer. Cheap board. Easy to install. Great performance (not all that good for OCing). On board Lan.

ecsk7s5a is not a matx board(wish it were, i'm holding out for the Chaintech 7SID that will be sis735 matx, but it'll probably never happen)

the ecs k7sem is a good board. Really bad built in 3d graphics, a perfect office computer though. A month ago i put a k7sem w/ 1ghz tbird, 128mb ram(sd ram only) and it turned out very nice. Onboard sound and nic were good though.

Get the PCchips 810ml(r?) cheaper + it comes with a modem so you don't have to spend extra

i thought i should make clear, the ecs and pc chips boards would not be good for a lan box.

there is one AMD760 ddr chipset in matx form factor

here it is:
AOpen MK7A

its about $130
