Need some help folks of AT.....

I want to record some video at home of my guitar playing mostly to share with some friends on youtube and all I need is some ideas of what type of camera will allow me to get decent audio and video and save it in a format that can be uploaded to youtube with
as small a file size as possible.

I've got a digital camera but the mic doesn't pick up very well plus in a small screen mode a 2 minute video is about 19mb. It makes .avi files.

Can anyone put me onto a good webcam / software package that you've tried so I don't waste money buying stuff that doesn't work?

Thanks,
Jim

If you have a digital camera then there is no need to get a web cam. Use the camera then convert the file into a smaller format. There will be some loss in clearity in the video but it will be better quality then any web cam. Also a webcam mic isn't going to be any better then your digital camera. You'd be better of connection a mic to your camera's mic port and position it as needed for best results.
