Suggest a video card for me

my rig:
Athlon64 2800+ (1.8ghz)
Asus someting or other, onboard sound, lan, sata raid
1.5 GB PC2700 RAM
1x 120GB WD 8mb
1x 160GB Maxtor 8mb
Radeon 9200 128mb

my 9500 pro died a few weeks ago and i'm using my backup 9200 which is pretty decent for what i'm playing these days... worms armageddon, mvp2004 and fifa2005 but i don't think it will fare to well with doom3, hl2 and any other newer games i might wanna try...

i have some other parts i left back in canada that i want to get back... an audigy OEM, 5.1 logitech z640s and a DVD burner so really the only department i'm seriously lacking in is video...

what do you guys suggest? i don't have PCI express on my mobo so that narrows it down but i don't have a whole lotta cash either...

what cards would be a significant upgrade and not cost too much? (i prefer ATI but i'm willing to try nvidia if the price is right)

As i've said, the 9800 is better value per fps on average, and it would be a considerable step up from your 9500pro...for about $40 cheaper than a 6600GT.

That said the 6600GT is undoubtblya little faster in almost every area, and quite a bit faster in d3.

edit: 6600GT seems like an excellent choice and price tag is pretty do-able too

i like GDD3 memory and the 9800PRO just seems dated in this day and age...

Yep, and if you are feeling really spunky pick up a 6800NU and see if you can unlock the last 4 pipes, if you can you will blow a 6600GT away because of much greater fillrate and memory bandwidth. Even if it doesn't unlock, they all seem to OC fairly well, and it is my feeling that a 6800 is faster all around and the better buy for midrange card.
