Suggest a New Video Card

I have a 128MB ATI Radeon 8500 and I'm looking to upgrade to a better card. I would like something around $150. I mostly use my machine for general everyday use and for DVD movie playback, with a few games once in awhile. I have my LCD monitor running on analog mode since my current card doesn't support DVI. I've been looking for some time at the ATI 9600 Pro as my possible replacement. Any suggestions?

I would wait for the next gen of video cards to be released, but if you can't wait then get the 9600XT

Like the rest, I'd probably recommend the 9600Pro if that's the price range you're comfortable with. To be honest, for the level of use you've described and if you HADN'T had mentioned what card you currently own, I would have recommended the 128mb R8500 - What you have already.

Personally speaking, I'd hold off until the newer cards are out. They're just around the corner and your R8500 is still a viable option for what you want to do with it. I still love both of mine and so long as I pair them with a CPU of enough power, they run just about anything out there (even the Doom3 alpha).
