Hello,

I will not game much, gaming would be low end games.. something like GTA or others....
I am planning to buy a new CPU but I am kinda confused. My budget is 13000INR (235$ approx). I am from Chennai, India and I am comfortable buying locally or on Indian websites.

I have the following components already,
NZXT Gamma Cabinet
Corsair Vengeance RAM 4GB DDR3
and a DVD writer

Things I require is a processor, mobo and a PSU.

I am not planning to buy a dedicated GPU so I was thinking of getting an AMD A series processor. Trinity hasn't launched in India yet and I am thinking of getting the llano series.

Should I buy an AMD a8 3870k with a Gigabyte A55m DS2 Mobo and a Corsair CX430v2 PSU?

Or I can get something better at this price?

Thanks a lot for the help :)

Ummm, depending on how you define gaming, you want a gaming rig within $235 and not buying a dedicated GPU? Thats.....probably not going to happen. You are not even close to "mid-range" gaming possibilities, more in the low end category.

Actually very low end games, I just need the GPU power as I am not planning to upgrade it for a few years now so maybe a few games like San Andreas or something would be the games.

I am not planning to get a dedicated GPU as I am not gonna use it for too much gaming. My usage would be surfing, watching movies and sometimes gaming. So I am interested more in buying an APU. 13000 is for processor + mobo + PSU.

Thanks :)

I read that Trinity isn't very good and moreover I am okay with the current llano series.

Trinity is a really nice improvement over Llano actually, especially if you want to play games.

Personally, I would very, very strongly urge you to get a discrete GPU for gaming on the desktop. I dont know what GPU prices are in your area, but in the US a 75.00 HD7750 will destroy any APU in gaming. If you notice on the Skyrim graph posted the game is basically not playable at 1080p at medium settings.

If you insist on gaming without a discrete card though, I would also advise waiting for Trinity. It is definitely an improvement over Llano, but you will be limited by the igpu to older games or lowered settings/resolution in modern games. I suppose you can get Trinity and see if it is adequate for the games and settings you want and add a discrete card later.

If you add a discrete card later though, it kind of defeats the purpose of buying an APU. You would have been better off to get an i3 or FX (the newer Vishera ones) in the first place.
