I currently have a VMware ESXi host server on which I run several VM's. A "jump server" to access my LAN from the Internet, a couple Windows servers running AD and serving files, an Ubuntu server running minecraft.
What I'm thinking I'd like to do is replace VMware ESXi with a flavor of Linux (one with robust support for my PERC6i), get rid of the AD domain, and still provide a virtual environment for spinning up a VM here and there to play around with.
I'm sure I could accomplish this with Ubuntu, but I've been thinking maybe there's something else more suited to what I want to do?
