Hi
I want to buy a new laptop/ultrabook. My budget is 3000 dollars.or Rs 200000 .
I will be working with maya 2014 ,autocad, photoshop ,after effects.
Basically ,I need it for 3d rendering ,animations etc .
Since my desktop has i7, please suggest the same.windows 8 will be good but can also do without it.thanks.

just want to mention, mobile i7 != always quad cores

desktop i7s are mostly quad cores with hyperthreading (a few OEM models that are dual + hyperthreading)

(eg: this thinkpad helix that I'm looking at offers i5-3337U and i7-3667U , but on paper they are almost the same, just 0.2-0.5ghz difference)

after saying that, do you want power over size/weight? I assume you want a really good (IPS) screen with good color reproduction?

Alienware has IPS options but I don't know how good the color accuracy is. If you want good color, you only have one choice now-- a Macbook Pro Retina
