Suggest a gaming/workstation chip/mobo/case combo for $400 or less.

I have a client looking to upgrade. His budget is $400. I figured you guys could help me get him the most for his money. He doesn't care for for brand (Intel vs. AMD) and would actually like quotes on a setup with both types of processors.

The reason I'm asking here is because I haven't kept up with the changes in hardware over the past few months.

The client did mention that he has 512 mb of pc2100 DDR ram currently and would like the new combo to utilize it to save a few bucks.

Not quite the answer I'm looking for. He wants a custom build.

Guess I should also mention he wants a case with a window. Dell doesn't offer that.
