But yes. Most 24 inch CRTs are expensive.
And I mean sick. I would settle for a 22 inch. Many more of them available and at reasonable prices.

I think a 22" NEC CRT would be very nice. Do you have a reason you want 24" specifically? I'm not even sure if there are many 24" options...

I really see no need for a 24" CRT but if you have your heart set on 24" my Supplierhas refurbished ones and the best I can do is offer you an addition 5% off by adding Coupon Codes

That is a SUN Microsystems monitor and they all require a special adapter to work with PC's. I have heard that those adapters vary in quality. So with out doing some reasearch, I could not tell you what a good one is at this moment


Also that is a 16:9 monitor, not a standard 4:3. Its realy the vertical (approx) equilvalant of a 19in 4:3, since they are measured diagnally.

No one really makes a 24in 4:3 crt, but you can buy a Viewsonic 22" CRT for around $500

but Sony did make a 24incher Flat Screen for PC's as seen HERE and the Silicon Graphics one is sold out.

Did anyone see the specs on the Sony?

1280 x 1024/115 Hz, 1920 x 1080/108 Hz
1600 x 1200/97 Hz, 1920 x 1200/98 Hz
I could actually SEE the high framerates I'm getting in UT2004.

Still, If i had to have something that big AND widescreen, I'd bite the bullet and get an LCD.
I cant imagine having something that heavy in my office/gameroom.

I know, but apearantly you did not understand my statement. The only monitors out there that are 24" are 16:9 monitors, verticly they are about the same as a 19" 4:3. Lets get an apples to apples compairison, I mean lets compaire 16:9 with 16:9 and 4:3 with 4:3.
Truth is no one makes a 24" 4:3 monitor. All 24" monitors (sony is the only maker of those tubes) are of the 16:9 class and cost more than what he is asking cost 2k or more new.

LOL...I do understand your statement but never alluded to it cause nowadays their are graphics cards that support 16:9 (ie,ATI Radeon 7500 and up) ...not to mention I'm not endorsing the 24incher so maybe your not understanding me

I know there are cards that support it, but what I mean is there is only one maker of this monitor; so finding one at a reasonable cost is out of the question. Time for this guy to move on to a 22" viewsonic, sony, or nec. I am also going on the assumtion that he is looking for a 4:3 monitor being that it is the most common type.

Googler that be my choice as well or an LCD or even a 21" cause some have the same area as the 22 inchers
