how can you compare this pile of crap to even XP let alone Vista...

None of the Mac OSs are that impressive and will not ever make it to the mainstream again.

sorry but I dont see anything impressive here.
just another craptastic OS for a niche market.

Vista stopped being impressive when they basically dropped every useful added feature and made it WinXP Serivce pack 3, when WinXP was just Win2k service pack 5.

I love OSX, but I will use Windows simply because I don't want to 1) learn a new operating system, and 2) I want to play games and download stuff.

Microsoft has a long way to go because the Apple website has a pic with the words "Advancing The Worlds Most Advanced Operating System"?

Fanboy or not, you have a long way to go.

The website says I need something quicktime related but it isn't available to download. What the hell? It's hard to be impressed when all I've got is some tiny screenshots to go by.

What apple needs to do to impress me is demo an OSX variant where they are running everquest in 1 window, prey in another, and watching a video in the 3rd window. With Foobar running in the bottom streaming music. Then I'll know they are speaking my language.

I think Vista is still good for its security enhancements and new user-account model. Besides that I'm not too sure.

OS X is definitely feature-rich and stable, but not much can be said about security simply because it isn't exploited like Windows is.

I don't have any sort of problem with Macs and OS X and Apple (not that I want to own any of their products), I just hate the typical Mac-lover who thinks their computer is the sh!t and won't hear anything different.

NO, it wasn't. The whole dashboard/widgets idea was stolen from Konfabulator, which was a third party program for the Mac until Apple basically ripped off the concept and built it into OS X. The Konfabulator guys retaliated by releasing a Windows version, and then got bought out by Yahoo.

Only in your belief that its ironic.

Everything that Windows has thats cute and kitchy and totally useless for getting things done was stolen from Mac.
Everything that Macintosh has thats productive and useful for getting things done in the real world was stolen from Windows.

My only problem with MS is they want their OS to be too much like Apples in all the wrong ways. Vista especially.

Do macs still have the single button mouse configuration?
If I can't right-click, I'm probably not going to use it.

Really? You have a final copy of Vista? How were you able to get your hands on that?

exactly, i still prefer windows 2000 pro for my clients. it's stable, not bloated and can do anything you can do in XP if needed but optional.

xp is ok for the home but sucks for the office.

And where do you think the konfabulator guys got their inspirations from?
