Suddenly, I have to hit refresh about 5 times for a page to fully load

Google searches haven't revealed much. Can anyone help with subject problem.

The issue just started happening for no apparent reason...

Sounds like packet loss to me - your isp is dropping the connection.

do a ping -t google.com

see if you get any dropped packets and or loss/high latency

To add to this; download pingplotter free edition. It'll continuously ping a server, and show a graph with latency, and pl. You can see where the errors are occurring also.

I really appreciate the help.

I may try the pingplotter but I think the issue is with my laptop. I have another laptop right next to it that is working fine off the same wireless router/modem.

It's driving me nuts. I did upgrade both adobe reader and FLASH and if I recall the issue started happening after FLASH. I did not create a restore point so maybe I'm hosed.

Only other idea is a virus so I'll try to run a scan tonight.

Some pages have thew issue more than others. Youtube seems to aggravate the issue and will not load properly. Other pages same issue but not as bad.

GOING CRAZY!!!

I wouldn't think it's Adobe(as crappy as they are), but if you wanted to check, you could uninstall the programs. Also try disabling any A/V, antimalware, or 3rd party firewalls you may be using.

I THINK I FOUND THE CULPRIT!!!

I noticed a switch (new?) in AVG called "linkscanner". There are 2 settings: 1 for "search shield" and 1 for "link shield". I turned both off and all seems good now. BTW, I forgot to report that searches were spotty as well before the AVG fix...

WOOHOO!

Thanks for putting me onto the right places to look. Appreciated.
