Suddenly had to boot from disk

I have both XP Pro & W2K3 Enterprise Server on my system. I only use XP however.

In the past, I've always seen the boot menu just fine.

Earlier today, I live-updated my NAV, and it wanted me to reboot. I said OK, and it shut down. It posted OK, but the boot menu never appeared. I tried resetting a few times, but that didn't seem to work. So, I set the boot order to be CD-Floppy-HD, and it booted just fine with the XP CD in the drive.

When I restart now, I have to have the CD in the drive, or no boot menu appears.

Any ideas as to why this suddenly happened? Should I wipe W2K3 off the drive? If so, can I just delete all content off the F:\ drive (w2k3), from WinXP, or do I have to do something else?

Any suggestions would be great :)

Thanks!

I assume by 'boot menu' you mean the choice to select either WinXP or Win2k3? If so, your boot.ini got wiped. Copy one from another WinXP system, and then add the appropriate entries for Win2k3, depending on where it's installed. If you'd like, PRIOR to making any changes, post a sample boot.ini, plus tell us what drives (c:, d:, e:, etc.) have WinXP and Win2k3 installed, and I'll help modify to suit.
