sudden reboot problem???!?!??!

i have an 1800+ XP proc and an epox 8KHA+ motherboard and i have a problem with the computer suddenly rebooting when i try to play games or when i'm just searching the net. this problem doesn't seem to have any signs that would indicate the computer is about to reboot, and the temp of my case is always about 39-40 Degrees celsius. so far, i can only think of one reason for this problem such as the fact that i had constant problems trying to get my aureal vortex card to work on a constant basis and so i switched to the built in AC'97 (pathetic i know) and after some of these random reboots, the onboard sound isn't even recognized. currently, i believe that the problem is the motherboard but i'm not totally sure.

thanks in advance for any help that you might provide no matter how small
btw: the rest of my specs are located in "MY RIGS" under VIPERX

Make sure your feet aren't touching any cables. I had the same problem once. Every time i even slightly touched a cable, it pushed another cable, which then slightly pushed up the power plug and caused a temporary power interruption.

my ps is an antec supply 300watt that i used in my tbird 1200C w/soyo dragon setup with absolutely no problems, and the cable is to far away for me to hit.

thanx for the input though

i bought a ecs k7s5a in jan and initially had exactly the same problems: random reboots during games, web browsing..etc then i decided to switch ram and now everything works fine. try switching ram, or taking one ram chip out (use only one ram slot) and see if that helps.

also, turn off the option in winXP that reboots your comp when you get errors. right-click my computer, advanced, startup and recovery and uncheck "automatically restart" under "sytem failure" hope this helps
