Sudden powerdown?

My main box has suddenly started shutting down for no reason that I can determine. I'll be doing something normal, or even be away from the box, and it will just power down. The power light remains lit, however it sounds exactly the same as if the machine were turned off via the power button. I will then have to turn off the switch on the power supply itself off for 20 sec or so, and I can then power the box back up.

I suspect the power supply, a 430w, is starting to get flakey There have been no changes for several weeks, and it just started to occur today. It's not a temp issue, there have been no changes on that front. Anyone else seen anything like this, or have any ideas? Here's the specs:

430w ps
8RDA+ @ 11.5x200fsb, stock voltage
3000+ retail
SLK-700 w/74mm TMD fan
GF5 Ti 4600 w/blue orb hsf
DVD
CD-RW
120gig Maxtor hdd
1 thermaltake 80mm smartfan II case fan
2 60mm aluminum case fans, one 25mm think, one 10mm thick
Vantec CCB-A1C hsf on northbridge.

Bump - since I now think it's possible that there's some issue with my 8RDA+ causing the power down. Any ideas?

It sound like you have something overclocked or an improper voltage somewhere.

Are you sure that your machine did not pick up a virus. Are you running anti-virus s/w with the latest virus definitions? Have you scanned your machine since it started the shutdowns? Just a thought.

Well, the 3000+ is indeed overclocked - it's running 11.5x200fsb, but all of the voltages are running at stock. Also, the system has been running with no changes for about a month, and this has just started to occur with no changes whatsoever. I always have a updated virus scanner running, and there are no virii on the system - I did a boot scan to confirm. MBM5 reports 21c, 47-53c (cpu), and 33c when the shutdowns occur, and lastly the heatsink has not been moved or otherwise changed in any way - from the temps being reported, that appears fine.

Any other ideas?

HAhahahaha.....oh, you're serious?!? It seems unreasonable that it's been running perfectly for a month, and now suddenly the fsb and/or clockspeed is causing problems. Worse, it happened 3 times yesterday, but not once since. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's not occuring, but it does make it hard to resolve the problem. And the fear factor sux!
