Sudden loss of microphone...

Ok, I recently turned on my computer, and discovered that my microphone is no longer functioning... Now, My first thought was obviously "My mic broke somehow, time for a new one.." To rule out this as being the problem, I switched out my problem mic with a brand new mic, only to discover that I still have nothing to show for it - No Teamspeak, no windows recorder, no mic capabilities...Nothing working still...

Now Im thinking it was a soundcard problem.. I had my SBLive Xgamer for a few years now, maybe the mic port is shot (thinking its just the mic port because I still have perfect sound otherwise)... So I go ahead and purchase a SB Audigy2 ZS fer $100... Just to make sure it wasnt an internal problem(drivers), I also decided to reformat my harddrive and start from scratch since i was overdue anyway...

Finish the reformatting and reinstalling everything - and... Nothing... Still no mic capabilities. I also changed PCI slots on my mother board, thinking maybe it was just the one PCI slot was bad... Nothing. I have perfect sound coming thru my headphones, but still no mic...
Keep in mind, this just happened out of nowhere... One day im playing Call of Duty with my cousin using teamspeak, the next day - he's saying im transmitting - but absolutly nothings coming out.

If anyone has any clue, any ideas would be appreciated.
