My computer has been running beautifuly for over a year now. Recently I messed something up on my XP partition while playing around with the Vista public beta. I wiped my raptor and was ready to do a clean install.

I started running into problems after i installed windows for the first time. I began loading the Nforce 3 drivers supplied from Nvidia.com (ver. 5.11) My computer crashed when the ethernet driver was installled and it refused to reboot. I wiped the drive again and started over. This occured a few times, so I isolated the ethernet driver to be sure it was causing the issue. Sure enough, installing the driver package w/o the ethernet driver did not crash the system.

I decided to update the bios on the board to the current version using MSI's liveupdate. I successfully updated to version 1.C. I wiped my HD yet again and installed windows successfully. However, installing the ethernet driver still caused a crash. To my dismay, my problems began to get worse after the first successful install. My USB keyboard suddenly quit working. It works to press del to enter bios, but it does not register when i hit a key to run windows setup. I also noticed that the keyboard's backlight (saitek eclipse) now runs ALL the time, even when the computer is off. After the keyboard issue popped up, I began to have issues with both of my CD drives, which work perfectly when tested on another system. Windows setup errors out on literally ever other file copy. The only way to get through a windows install is to constantly pop out the CD and put it back in everytime there's an error. Now i'm afraid I screwed up my system. Help!! Any ideas would be much appreciated, I'm not sure where to go from here. Whats going on with my PC??
