I wonder what we'd have thunk of had we dropped $300 billion dollars on alternative energy research. Or improving science, math, & engineering education. Or directly into more pragmatic r&d. Or... maybe paying down the deficit, or giving massive tax breaks to all Americans? Or dealing with the 'immigrant issue'.

I guess nothing's a better indicator of the average American's increasing comfort level than the increasing imbecility of our elected officials.

Bush promised not to be a Nation Builder and he kept that promise. You have something against honest politicians that have the morals to do as they say?
