The difference in take on this story between liberals and conservatives is in identification and empathy. A liberal puts himself in the shoes of the victim and can feel how painful hate is, whereas a conservative will identify with power and want, from cowardliness, to be on the bullies team. I have wondered why this theme keeps coming up when people on this forum criticize "liberals". Caring about other people is a sign of weakness. Feeding hungry people harms them, wreaks the economy, people getting health care is limiting their freedom, etc.
