Given what I saw in 300 and Watchmen, yes.

yep. Watchmen was the best superhero movie released to date--easily.

haters gonna hate, mostly cause they have the taste of 15 ear-old boys, but whatever. let them have their Transformers.

Watchmen was about as perfect as it gets for a film that lives in the superhero trope. Everything else, though much of it quite good, sure--is silly compared to Watchmen.

No 3d = me no see

If I go out, it has to be for something I can't get at home. I haven't coughed up the dough for 3d yet.

3D is for retards. the sooner this failure dies the better.

here's the thing--you see the entire world in 3D all the fucking time--you don't need to go to a film to see what you already see all day, only in a piss-poor representation.

^^^^ I didn't care for the sex scenes in Watchmen either but I really enjoyed that movie. (Saw it in the theatre)
And I'll almost definitely be watching this movie if my mom will let me spend some money on a night out. (Stupid bitch keeps my money away from me)

:hmm:
clever strategy, there. You freely admit that you live with your mother, and have no money. so once you start your serious trolling, there's really nothing the internet justice league can do to bring you down. Clever--taking away all our ammo before we can use it.

Well, I'm 16 so it's kind of hard for me not to live with her.
Also, I have money but my mom tends to keep a tight grip on it due to my erratic spending habits.

It's how he rolls.
Damn right, Homie! :p

Just because Watchmen and 300 were decent doesn't mean Sucker Punch is automatically good... mostly because it's not. I'm also not guessing based on previous films... I've seen the movie and it's awful. Like I mentioned, the only redeeming quality seemed to be the soundtrack, which was interesting.

One thing that bothered me that normally doesn't when I watch movies... the theater was too loud. My ears were actually bothering me by the time the movie was over, and I've never had that happen.

But anyway... I think the one big difference between this movie and his other movies is that he wrote the story. He was one of the screenplay writers on 300, but obviously it was based on Frank Miller's 300 graphic novel. He didn't write Watchmen's script and that was based off a graphic novel as well. It might simply be safe to say that he should possibly lay off the weird story writing.

the soundtrack is awesome, I agree

the movie was pretty fucked up, but I enjoyed it. I couldnt beleive my eyes in the theater though. handfuls of young kids, in the 10-12 range

those parents are awful, did they not read plot lines? I would NOT want to explain rape and human sex trafficing to my 10 year old.

the visuals were great, I loved the stylizing, but movie felt very abridged.

and of course, needed moar tittays

Zack Snyder should be directing music videos, not making movies. From his terrible remake of Dawn of the Dead (I know some people liked it) to 300 to Watchmen, to his latest abortion it's pretty clear he should stick to visuals only.

He 8 Miled your ass!

^'K is there anything else worth watching at theatres now? if there's something awesome playing I might watch something else.

I can't believe you're forgetting the Lincoln Lawyer. I hear Matthew McConaughey takes his shirt off in this one!

Did not like Watchmen that much. Was good for about the first 1/2. The latter half seemed like just so much childish drivel to me. I know it's a comic book film but I prefer not to have comic book dialogue in my comic book films. There was some especially bad dialogue during the final scene with "Ozymandias" who has some of the worst lines period. I just about laughed out loud at some of the lines, and they were supposed to be taken seriously. Like I was saying the first 1/2 is quite good, I just CAN'T STAND the latter half and the ending :(

My votes for good comic book films are Iron Man 1, Superman Returns, and the 3 Batman films.

Watchmen has some serious fanboys. It was quite mediocre.

Yep I could get behind that, although there is a special place in my heart for Superman. I also loved Iron Man, but in terms of making a great film Watchmen is definitely up there.

Not to derail the thread but...

Thank God for a shirtless Matthew McConaughey! :D

BTW - if you don't already know, there are 4 books (well, one is due out in a week or so) about Mickey Haller (The Lincoln Lawyer). Written by Michael Connelly.

I came right to the end to ask if there are spoilers in this thread? I haven't had time to go to the theater yet and don't want to ruin it for myself.

I'll also update the OP if there are spoilers.

Going to see it tonight. Hopefully ill like it as much as im hoping i will. But im a big visual person, especially with these types of films. Im not expecting Oscar material here. Just good visuals, action and fun.

Awful, awful movie. Dragged out predictable story with a terrible plot, terrible acting, and terrible writing. I felt as though I have a duty to leave my lurking to warn you not to see this.

Sadly, yup.

Saw it last night, & it was pretty painful to watch.

The "action scenes" i'll call them, they were fun to watch.

But ugh, such a bad movie...i was disappoint...

Just got back from this movie, and while I couldn't tell you what it was about it had some excellent CGI, an awesome soundtrack and some fun fight scenes. Cute blond chick too.

It was worth my time and money.

Edit: I thought the intro was really well done.

If they cut out most of the fluff it'd be good but it was extremely drawn out.

Cool visual effects. Awesome action / fighting sequences. Great soundtrack.

The movie kept me interested and entertained but it wasn't a great movie.
