I'm shopping around for a laptop chillpad.
I've noticed that there are 2 types, pads that blow air towards the laptop and pads that suck air away from the laptop.
which one is better?
can anyone offer suggestions for a good chillpad for my 15" Dell Inspiron?
Thanks!

If the object of the exercise is to get some air moving across the bottom of the laptop, both could work but I think blowing the air where you want it would do the better job.

It's suck, honey......blow is only a figure of speech.

Sweetie, it's a matter of getting our pipes cleaned!

I have a Toshiba A215...

Here's the way it works:

Intake is on the bottom, exhaust is on the side.

Heat pipes warm up - fan turns on.

Cool air is drawn in from the bottom - hot air blows out the side - fan shuts off (to save power).

When your pipes get hot again - the cycle is repeated until you go into sleep mode!

Sucking won't do jack for keeping things cool... :D

Talking about chillpads...

I ran across an interesting product - looks like a big Kotex Maxi pad - puts the chill on things with no blowing or sucking!

Thermaltake iXoft

I read about 10 reviews, last night, and ALL of them said it was comfortable on your your lap and did the job! :D

used the antec one that sucks, and well.. it sucks.

It tried to pull air through the laptop in reverse, it sorta kept it cool, but it was fighting the fan on the laptop.

I say BLOW

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHHA

This comment made my day...

OP the correct term for this, without instigating the tons of horny nerds on this forum.

Push or Pull.

Pull tends to create less noise. Well on a radiator that is. On Laptop cooler, i dont think it makes any big difference. You just want cool air to be forced under it at all times
