Yeah, thanks MBNA/Bank of America. Way to waste my F'ing morning on this ******. Absolutely nothing on your piece of sh!t website said that affiliate cards would not work with BOA.com. You took something that worked perfectly well and managed to F things up. You a$$bags could put a little note on your website or inform me when I tried to login or when I attempted to retrieve/reset my Username. NOOOOO, that would be too easy. Instead you make me sit through your hold music for 45 minutes just to get 1 little piece of information. And your telephone prompt saying that the expected hold time was 8 minutes, it was just a little bit off. Why the hell did you even bother with that?
That's ok in your book; Customers don't count because you're megalo-giant-hyper-bank-o-mart. You can walk all over th little guy, right? Well, i'm sick and tired of your sh!t. From now on, by BOA accounts are keeping $0.01 balances. That's right, I'm transferring everything out but keeping the account on the books. And I'm going to put a $0.01 credit on my BOA visa card and just leaving it there. I'm going to find a nice local bank. A bank that doesn't rape and pillage everywhere it goes. And you? You can eat my hairy brown a$$.

They'll automatically cut you a check for the credit balance in 6 months.

Yeah, BoA is about the worst bank in the country. There's a local action group in my area that campaigns to get people to leave the bank in order to get them out of town. Hasn't totally worked yet but they've had to move buildings and take in some business leasers in order to stay open here. They need to be shut down completely though.

The entire facility needs to be shut down? Why?

Because, as I said, many consider them to be about the worst bank in the country. Their policies are draconian, their customer service non-existent, their fees exorbitant, etc. I'm sure some people like them for some reason, or have just had good luck so far, but most that I talk to hate them. My brother is a VP for a bank chain and agrees that BoA is pretty much the bottom of the barrel, and is consistently the brunt of all scorn and jokes about the industry - even from inside the industry. Again, I'm sure some others will probably feel differently.

Topic Title: Suck it Bank of America

First of all they really should change the name to what it really is: Bank of India

Second, all Americans should REVOLT against not just the banking Industry but all of the anti-Consumer businesses and Government we now have allowed to be put in place.

Granted it was the banking Industry that lobbied Bush for this "Check 21" system that screws you over.

Hopefully the local bank is better for you but they can operate under the same "Check 21" system as BOA, maybe they will chose not screw you over.

So, and correct me if I'm wrong here, but you're openly proposing revolution?

I hate BOA, but what does reducing paper pushing (Check 21) have to do with anything?

How does Check21 screw u over?

Well apparently you have not been personally affected by it .... yet.

In short in turns Computers into being used for Nefarious purposes to screw the little peons of the world over.

They use made up excuses (thanks to Computers) to get you for fees and charges that would've not been possible pre-computer era.

They take your money immediately for bogus charges but hold your money for a made up indefinite period anywhere from 3 to 9 days.

They do this under the guise of the money is being checked to make sure it is not being used by Terrists under 911 Homeland Security.

Try looking it up. Those that don't have a lot of money that have been hit with bogus overdraft and late charges know what I am talking about.

It does not affect the rich of course.

Cancelling credit cards can actually hurt your credit. All you need to do is put the card in a safe place and refrain from using it.

I've been a BofA customer since 1995, never had a problem with them. Sucks to have your bank get bought out by BofA.

I think people who choose megabanks should expect to be treated like the insignificant amoebas that the bank sees them as. That way you won't be disappointed when the inevitable issue comes up, and you see just how meaningless you are to them.

We sign up with megabanks so we can get to 10,000 ATMs, then flip out when we get zero customer service. The banks give good service to the top customers, but they don't have to use web sites or call the "main" number. They get direct numbers to people who take care of any issues.

I guess it's a tradeoff; megabanks have tons of ATMs and a web site, and that's what they want you to use. They want you to get direct deposit and a debit card, then don't come in and don't call so they can deal with you in a completely automated and impersonal manner. The happy customers are the ones who have never had a need for anything but the automated services. Smaller local banks don't have all the ATMs or extensive web site, but if you have a problem, you can talk to someone who will try to help you.

lol, I have never had any problems with BoA coming through for dealing with problems. I had fleet before and so far, I have received equivalent or better service (through more atms, better customer support for fraud or wrongful charges).

Guess, maybe you should just switch banks?
