Over the past week, I can't seem to get to sleep till past 6 am. I normally used to be tired and would be in bed by like 2 at latest. Now, I struggle to get to sleep even at 6. I sit there and the sun is up and I still can't sleep. I slept today maybe from 7 am-10 am.

My question is, is there such a thing as partial insomnia?

The harder you try to fall asleep, the harder it is to fall asleep...

Just relax, dont be so stress about it and you will be able to fall asleep easier...

Maybe you just aren't tired? Go work outside all day, or go to the gym during the day, or stay up for like 36 hours straight, then you'll sleep like a baby. Actually there probably is something like that but as mentioned you just need to relax when trying to sleep and if you don't sleep right away, get up and get a drink or something b/c if you lay there it'll just get worse.

Usually it's called a sleep phase disorder. That's "fancy talk" for when people can't goto bed at the right time ;)

I am polysomnagraphic technician BTW (sleep tech)
try going to sleep at the right time, in a dark room, no tv, no noise. it's OK to use a sleep aid (AKA a sleeping pill) for the short term to hopefully get your body back into the right rythem.
Avoid ALL:| caffine also. don't eat 2-3 hours prior to sleep either.
good luck.
