Rice is amazing, low calorie, filling, tastes decent. Any negatives to eating a lot of this stuff?
define "a lot"...
Nothing wrong with eating it every day as much of the world does. If you're not diabetic it's not likely to make you one. Best if spread out with meals, as opposed to one gigantic bowl at a time (...like I tend to do)
White/bleached rice has no little value.
Brown rice is a very good source of complex carbs and even some protein. Still, at around 30g of carbohydrates in a serving, you need to watch your macros so that you aren't filling up your caloric goal with carbs.
rice is low calorie?
That's right. We're not talking about enough arsenic to poison you. We're talking about low-level exposure that over time, might increase your risk of cancer or heart disease, maybe diabetes. So that's what the health folks are concerned about here.
NPR about a week ago talked about a Rice study. Rice absorbs arsencic more readily than most other veggetables.

Sound like no study yet, but there is a fear out there.

No real nutrition in it, just calories, that's a pretty damn big thing I'd say. In a way it's got to be among the most useless vegetables in this sense.Rice is amazing, low calorie, filling, tastes decent. Any negatives to eating a lot of this stuff?
