I put together my new 1.2Gig T-bird Rig.
I am using an Axia Retail Chip, which should bode well for future overclocking.
Anyway, here are my simple (i think) and probably solvable problems.
1.)The system will not boot with my PC2100 Ram in Dimm1, I think this might have something to do with it not having Pc2100 compatability, however, crucial says the memory should work with the MBs Pc1600 Compatability.
2.) With the stick in Dimm 2 I can boot fine, but the CPU fan won't turn, unless I plug it into the system fan connector. It will start turning, and then just cut upon POST.
3.)The power LED doesn't currently light. It was lit before, but doesn't light now, probably knocked out a jumper or something.
Any suggestions?
With it plugged into the CPU Fan power connector, I can get it to boot and enter the bios, not taking any risks, I immediately shut down to aviod CPU Failure.
With it connected to the system fan connector, I have installed win 98 and win2k without any problems.
I have a hunch its the lack of PC2100 support on the motherboard. But it still doesn't sound logical that that's the problem.
I am idling at 44C which isn't too bad. But I don't think that's too good either.
