Picked up a set of LED tail lights for some 50 bucks (needed little soldering) and '06 15K mile m3 seats with lumbar/bolster adjustment. My car didn't have the lumbar option which is absolutely key for my f'd up lower back.

In retrospect the lumbar/bolster option is phenomenal. It transforms the seats to the ones out of R32... crazy amount of support. You literally get hugged every time you sit down.

I like the new bmw light tubes more than LEDs, but still better than regular incandescent bulbs

when is the car getting painted blue so it can match your plates?

Hah I was thinking for a bit about getting a phoenix yellow one to quasi-match my Alma mater colors; couldn't really find one in a decent shape.

<-- Has lumbar/bolster option seats. They are incredible, the way the grip you. I almost feel like I'm going to fall out of any other kind of seat after these!

Did your light set come with resistors? I'm assuming they did or that you already have the LED compatible LCM?

LED rear lights FTW!

Now you just need to get the extended boot handle from the facelift M3.

I thought the electric lumbar/bolster seats were standard?

They are on UK cars , but not sure about US spec.

Huh - is that boot handle a bolt-on part for pre-facelift cars? I don't think I'd bother to make the swap but it does look nicer.

It's not a bolt-on unfortunately as the extended handle is recessed into the boot, so if you ever wanted to retrofit this item you would need the entire boot lid from a 2004+ M3.

It’s a subtle difference, but it looks much better IMO, as do the LED rear lights.

That's what I figured. I agree it looks better but not to such an extent that I'd pay much of anything for the swap.
