Success with a 260 in a Gateway fx530?

I'm thinking of upgrading the original 8800GTS (320) to a GeFORCE 260 on my Gateway FX530.

The fx530 has a 700 watt power supply and the 6 pins connectors required.

My only real concern is that the 260 is SUBSTANTIALLY bigger, lengthwise, than the stock card. The case is pretty tight to begin with and was built on a tight BX formfactor.

Has anyone successfully added a 260 (or 280) to a Gateway FX-530? Any reason to think it would work, or not?

If it's not an option, what card would be a worthwhile upgrade? Does the 9800GT have enough speed increase to make to effort worthwhile?

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

NO, the 9800gt is an upgrade, but not worth your time.

Measure how much space you have and how long the GTX 260 is ( 9.5 or 10.5 inches I forgot google it )

The PSU should be fine, since your Gateway is their "gaming" model.

My 4870 1gb is at the very most the same length as my 8800gts 320mb if not an inch or two shorter (both are reference cards).

Two 6pin connectors, at least a quality 500watt psu. Your 700watt psu should be able to handle the job fine.
