subwoofer wiring question

Just wanted to double check I can do this w/o problems:

dual-voice coil sub, 4-ohm. If I wire it parallel it should make a 2-ohm load right?

For the house or for the car??

I wouldn't do this for a home system. Don't think most of them are made for lower ohm loads.

For the car just make sure your amp can go down to a 2 ohm load.

update to this small post. i purchased an RF 12" punch hx2 4-ohm. i just got it in the mail and it's a 2-ohm:| it was even listed on the page as 4-ohm. fucking idiot.
