That was the biggest problem with the first run of Infinity Perfects. Most of the time the tinsel lead ripped at the terminal end, not at the cone, and was an easy fix. In your situation, even solder wouldn't fix that, it's ripped too close to the cone.

Edit: If there's any tinsel (wire) at all on the cone section, you can strip the insulation off of the lead and solder it together, but it probably wouldn't hold for long. Also, if it isn't extended, it will just rip again as fixing it will probably make it that much shorter.
