Subwoofer installation

I have a skoda Octavia vrs petrol model. Previous installation of electrical components lead to power cut in the engine. A mechanic who worked on this car earlier educated me on not to install more on cosmetics. Since this car is a powerful one. He adviced not to install an amplifier with subwoofer connection since it will reflect on short circuit or might result in power problems of the vehicle. Is there a way to fix an additional battery and separate connection to subwoofer? Or how do we do this.

Your amplifier should have two positive power inputs - one provides the actual power for the amp and the other is connected to a source that turns off when the accessory power is off (for example when the car is shut off). The first one will generally connect straight to the battery (with an inline fuse) so that it won't interfere much with the rest of the car's electrical system, and the second will connect to the fuse panel on an accessory switched circuit.

Having said that, I'd be hesitant to do much if you've had electrical problems in the past.
