Subwoofer Affecting Monitor

I got a Altec Lansing XA3051 5.1 channel 6 speaker set. When I place the subwoofer within an inch to my 19" Envision CRT, it starts turning rainbow colors. I placed it about 8-10 inches away, and it doesn't make any colors. Is it still bad to have my subwoofer there?

Personally, I would keep it away. The colors are because of the magnet in the woofer. Stick the sub under your desk or something; away from your glass

I have another question. The XA3051 is a TV and Console speaker set. The audio connectors are the red and white RCA cables. What kind of adapter do i need to connect this to by TBSC (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz).

1) Keep that sub the hell away from your monitor unless you like permanent CRT damage.
2) You need a 1/8"-to-dual RCA convertor. Tiny "headphone plug" on one end, red/white RCA plugs on the other.

Thanks guys.

Can I pick up a 1/8" to dual RCA Converter at a Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc.? And will I lose any sound quality with the converter?

Thanks.

I have one more question 🙂. I set up my TBSC drivers and stuff, and it appears as the default audio source. But for some reason, when I tried hooking up my stereo speakers to the TBSC it didn't work, but when I plugged them into my integrated audio, it works.

Do i need to remove the integrated audio hardware in the add/remove hardware on control panel?

[EDIT] NM, I figured it out.
