Subway's fresh baked bread is awesome.

That's too bad you don't have a decent sub shop. I have one not too far and they make bread nightly, from scratch. It's excellent.

I love jimmy johns bread. It has my favorite texture/taste combo for standard sandwich bread.

I don't have a problem with Subway, getting those $2 or $5 deals makes it worth it. Other than that I don't go because they barely put any meat in their sandwiches obviously because they have to cut costs. Plus most of their meat is Turkey that you would think would be beef.

They don't. Have you seen their avocado? Grilled chicken? Roast beef?

Avocado is fresh and creamy down here in Southern California where most of the nation's avocadoes are grown. :awe:

Grilled chicken is from all white meat chicken breast patties.
I haven't tried their roast beef. I go for the Italian BMT and their salami/pepperoni is pretty decent with their blend of peppers, olives, and Italian herbs.

With that said, I wouldn't go to Subway if there were NY delis around me.

Where else other than subway can you get yoga mat stuff as an ingredient in your sub?

Have you tried the Spicy Italian? It's the same as the B.M.T, but has double the salami/pepperoni, and no ham. It's pretty good!

I went to a Jersey Mike's recently. It was just white bread, lettuce, tomato, and deli meat. Talk about bland.

Subway has a vastly greater variety of ingredients.

You should have gotten the wheat. Anyhow, they have far better meats at Jersey Mike's.

Order a Jersey Mike's Club Sub or a Chipotle Cheese Steak....they'll change your life.

They don't use azocarbamide after they switched to daily fresh baked bread. It still contains dihydrogen monoxide though, an ingredient found in liquid drain cleaner and rat poison.

Has this become a monthly topic now? First of every month, somebody has to start a new thread about sub shops.

This one is different, OP thinks they actually make good bread which is a first.

Just giving credit where credit is due. It's tempting for some here to mindlessly knee-jerk hate on big chains. But in this case, Subway actually has fresh baked breads with a variety of ingredients from jalapeno cheddar to Italian herbs to whole grain oats.

Most sub places only offer white or wheat.

Foot-long Meatball Marinara with provolone and onions and banana peppers on Italian herb and cheese for the win.

I have tried all the sub companies and IMHO Subway is not much worse nor are they better. What they are is much more expensive.

I like the Pita Pit's more, they aren't everywhere, but tasty and fresh.

If I want a really good sub, Publix is the best and freshest. Also some of our local deli's are much better. However, they are no where as cheap as Subway.
