But I don't want a sub for lunch every day!

Yeah, they made it $2.20 to jump from a 6" to a footlong and raised some prices, but it still costs less for me to get my Chicken Breast, so I haven't complained much.

I agree with Elfenix...this is a YMMV when it comes to it being a deal.

Since Subway has a lot of franchises, the prices vary a lot. This has been a price increase for some subs in my area. Cold Cut Trio and Meatball were under $5 before the promotion. They've been running the 2 footlongs for $9.99 for the last year on and off, but this included a different list of subs...this is just another version of the same promotion.

What are you talking about? The old Sub Club stamps program?

Depending on where you live some of the subs cost more now. The meatball does for sure here, and I think some of the other ones. I don't like Subway but I have friends that work there.

Yeah, the game Sk8te on the Xbox 360 had an update, now I am skateboarding around in the game and there are ads for the 5 buck subway sandwiches.

No one in my area has foot long bread that isn't like a rock and needs to be nuked to soften it up.

Not to mention I would have to keep all the ingrediants (lettuce, spinach, turkey, ham, onions, green peppers, jalapenos, banana peppers, olives, mayo) seperate. Next I would have no where to heat my sub up. I could easily spend 40 bucks on the ingrediants for a week.

Very comparable to subway prices, not to mention I walk to subway. So then I would never get any fresh air.

I was confused about that too.

Here in MD, when I buy a foot long with nothing else but my usual crab, lettuce, and honey mustard, I get charged $5.34
When I visited a DC subway store 2 weeks ago, I was charged $6.26 for the same freaking sub. I asked why, they said it's not part of the $5 deal.

I've been getting the same type of sub for the past 3 years, and have visited that same DC store at least 5 times during the past year and never paid that price.
I've never paid $6 for a sub at subway before.

Looking back, I probably should have walked out rather than accepting to pay that price.

How much extra if I load it up with turkey/roast beef (if they have it)? I've never been a fan of lettuce/tomato/onions.

Here in Minnesota about 4 of the subs were cheaper than 5$, and they're all up to 5$ now.

BASTARDOS!

The cheapest foot long sub at Subway where I live is $7.

This promo will never help us from gouging Subway in Western Canada.

that is correct.

Then the local areas attempted to switch over to a magnetic swip card that woiuld credit you with the total price.

But that was not chain wide and ended up being discontinued in the local area.

So now there is no incentive for consumer loyalty.

For a $1 more, I can get (what I feel is) fresher ingredients at a Port of Subs location. They have a stamp card that is still accepted at all local stores. You see the ingredients being prepared (only veggies & bread are not on the fly), not hauled out in canisters. (Similar to a Blimpies)

Mom & pop sandwich shops are the way to go anyways. Sure they're a little more expensive, but most have awesome sandwiches.

What about on your chocolate chip cookies, or brownies, or ice cream, or water, or mountain dew?

I had around 5 of them and since the sign kept hanging outside the local Subway, I figured it was just their call, not company policy. Anyway, I think the promotion said "at participating Subways." I stopped going in there, though. Subway doesn't excite me. Lately I've been hitting McDonald's for a couple of McChickens and a small fries. It think it's $3.26 out the door.

All I care about is that Quiznos has large signature classic sandwiches for $7. That's a damn good and damn filling meal for a lot less than it used to be.

I still miss the $2.99 cold cut combo and $3.99 BMT on the old Tuesday special they had.
