Suburban Neighbours are dumb?

First, I grew up in the country, where anything goes and everyone looks after themselves.

Two years ago my mother moved to the suburbs, bleh. But I live 6 hours away at school most of the time, so no worries.

I am home for the holidays, and my mother has hired someone to plow our driveway. Today a neighbour came to our door to complain (again) that snow was getting dumped in his driveway.

See diagram.

He says the city plow picks up our pile and dumps it in his driveway. I didn't see how this could be possible because the snow pile is on the side of his property, but as it turns out this is not neighbour A - but neighbour D who is complaining. Now this is very odd because the plow turns right after passing our house and doesn't come back down to his house until it does the upper street.

Of course everyone is going to get some residual snow dumped at the end of their driveway, which is fprobably all that is happening to this guy. And now he's whining like a silly sub-urban sissy who can't deal with it himself and trying to blame someone else. :frown:

I guess this is more of a rant against suburban life than anything else. Maybe I should go make some cinder block-snowmen in his driveway? 😉

well, if you have a suburban neighbors then you ARE a suburban neighbor and therefore are dumb.

Except, I don't live here 😛

Your neighbor is stupid. He'd get snow whether your snow was there or not. But you should keep your snow on your property

Tell him to call and bitch at the city then.

My neighbor is a redneck who came into money when a developer came around and developed our road, buying some of his land. Thus while I live in a large new home, he lives in a tiny little shack. What did he do with the money? a) Bought a huge pickup truck b) Built a garage for said pickup truck that is literally twice the size of his house, in FRONT of his house, and on a higher grade than his house c) Both of the above. If you guessed C, you win the :cookie:

So yes, some can be stupid, I haven't had any quarrels with any though.

Wait, are you or the plow driver for your driveway dumping the snow into the street then the city plow driver is pushing it into his driveway when he plows the street? If yes, that's illegal in most cities/towns and maybe why the neighbor is complaining.

Pushing snow accross a road from a residence in many states is illegal. It;s an often ignored law though.

Anyways, some people would complain if they were being hung with an old rope.

Ask your neighbour what he plans to do about this problem, chances are he will turn around and awalk away. Problem solved.

Yep. This is the best way to handle the situation. When he comes over next time ask him what he thinks should be done to solve the problem.

You should be keeping the snow on your property though. Is there a reason the person plowing is putting it across the street and not on your mom's property?
