the reason i ask about replacing this is also b/c i'm having a problem with it in win2k. when i open WMplayer7.0 , the window opens fine (really fast and everything) , but right after the wnidow is done loading, it stalls doing nothing for about 45 seconds. it just keeeps searching my CDRW orsomething cuz the light there turns on and off. if this can be fixed, i'll keep wmplayer 7.0 for streaming media.

my system config is:
celeron 533a@800
128mb RAM
Asus p3v4x
IBM HDD Prim Master
Maxtor HDD Prim Slave
Plextor 8432A CDRW Sec. Master
Teac 40x CDROM Sec. Slave

thanks

yeah. thanks for the tip, but that is alread what i do. the main thing i hat about WinMedia plaer 7.0 on my computer is the stalling when i first open it. it just stalls there for 45 or so seconds doing nothing except checking the cdrom if something is in there (i think since ithe cdrom light goes on and off while Mplayer 7 turns opens). this does not happen in windows mplayer 6.4 on my computer though.

does anyone know how to get rid of the stalling when i open Media player 7?
