What's a good substitute for iTunes? I'd prefer something that gives me an .mp3 so I dont need to convert anything.

Allofmp3.com does and for only 10-12 cents 🙂

Real player also has a better interface to use for the Ipod than itunes.

are you seriously considering something that installs stuff onto your computer without your knowledge to itunes?

and you're not fooling anyone. allofmp3 is illegal.

You pay for songs on allofmp3.com, it is in a gray area, but still has not been shut down. Real player can be installed without adware simply enough.

Overall, it is a much much easier interface to use for your ipod, 10x better than Itunes. Also, allofmp3.com sells you the song indivudally for 10-12 cents, or the cd for 1-3$.

So allofmp3 should be avoided?

in a nutshell, you're paying the russians so you can lie to yourself. if you want to pirate music, go pirate it. if you want legal music, buy the CD's from target ot buy the songs from itunes.

real player is just as bloated, if not more bloated, and a worse resource hog, than itunes. realplayer started out great, but with all that crap added onto it, no thanks. winamp for me.

More or less, the reason no one has been busted for Allofmp3.com is because it is not illegal to import music. Which is essentially what you are doing, as long as it is for personal use, and not distribution.
