This game is pure skill and can be very fun. Give it a shot.

Of the currently still active servers, try Chaos/League zone. It's the closest to the original game that launched in 1997.

I've never come across another game that was so skill dependent online.

Wow, blast from the past. Subspace was the first game I ever played online. I probably won't start playing it again, but this brings back memories.

I played this a lot back in the day. Even played Pro League. I wasn't an elite player but I wasn't bad.

This was one of my fav online games. I hopped onboard during the early going - I graduated college in August '97 and I vividly remember playing this in my apartment. Originally read about it in CGW - they said it was like a massive dogfightin' version of Space War/Asteroids. Reading that, I knew I would love it.

Later on, I even bought the retail copy. Yes, Virgin Interactive (rip) put this out to retail. I recall reading stories about how they were trying to monetize the game for the longest time time. I may still have my copy and instruction book, hehe.

I was a regular in the Chaos zone - took part in some of the Death Star/Turf War stuff too, but I really just like the TDM, so to speak. Doing the turret stuff and communicating via kb only. Ah, good stuff.

I played some Continuum (still have it on my current HD) but kept getting distracted with other games. May give it another whirl. I have to imagine that Continuum is a dream come true for hardcore Subspace fans.

Didn't the Subspace team make a game called Fire Team too? I believe they also had a spiritual sequel to Subspace in the works as well. Or maybe it came out (through Sony's online service?) I remember a member of Popcap said he helped create Subspace ...
