Every since I changed my "icon" a short while ago, I have stopped receiving email notifications of new posts in threads I am subscribed to. I have double checked the Email address entered in my profile and have tried subcribing to new threads without any luck.

That isn't a forum issue, sounds like something else to me since the only thing that can stop mail from going is your mail host blocking our mail server.

It almost sounds like you or someone that uses the same ISP for e-mail was subscribed to that very long nef thread that recently resulted in temporary bannings of some members, as well as the thread being deleted. After all those update notices were sent in such a short time, it wouldn't be surprising if the mail server blacklisted the domain here for all that e-mail in such a short time.

To my knowledge, I never posted a message or subscribed to a "nef" thread (still trying to figure out what that is).

For example, I never received an Email notification that either of you responded to this post...

I have changed my Email address. I hope it works. Someone post something :)

There is also one other wierd thing. When I created this thread I selected the "subscribe" checkbox. Now that I am replying to the same thread, it is giving my the option of doing so again. Is something screwed up with IE?

More info on the nef thread - basically a thread with over 1300 posts in a very short period of time.

If someone using a hypermart.net e-mail address (not necessarily you) was subscribed to the thread mentioned in the linked thread, there would be the possibility of the hypermart.net mail server 'blacklisting' anandtech.com e-mail.

Don't know why else you wouldn't be getting the subscription update notices.

Since hypermart forwards my Email to my ISP address, I just entered my "real" Email address. Everything's working fine now!
