I am asking if anyone does anything like these and if they are worth it. Do they get a pile of crap each month? Or, a nice trove of cool stuff?

No? Why the hell would I pay for a box of random crap. If I want something, I buy it. I don't buy things that you don't even know what they are. Exception: BOC from Woot back when Woot used to be Woot and not Amazon.

I have a subscription on Amazon to have 5 pounds of coffee delivered once a month on their "subscribe and save" program. I like coffee.

I am part of a local grocery co-op that kinda works like that but with produce.

I have ordered the "lighter" grab bags from "Cigars International" a few times ... got a couple really nice lighters, as well as a bunch of mediocre crap lighters.

One fantastic bugatti lighter I kept for myself, easy to adjust, nice sized internal resevoir, easy to replace flint, and nice powerful torch. Also has a ring style cuter built into it.

Fiancee liked some fancy plated zippo style branded Macunudo ligher, its not a torch style, but a twin flame lighter.

She does not smoke cigars, so she prefers this style of lighter.

I don't subscribe to any, but my gf has birchbox. She says she likes it because it lets her try different skin care products that she wouldn't try otherwise because they're too obscure (not marketed otherwise) or because they're too expensive to try without knowing if they'd work for her skin.
