There will be an outage tomorrow late afternoon, exact time is not known at this time. We'll be performing the start of some system upgrades.

Thanks

Not possible. The subscription services only exist for those that re-upped before the subscription removal announcement.

Fun stuff, a few hardware issues slowed down the upgrades. More upgrades coming over the next 2 weeks.

So you're upgrading the subscriber forums, even though you won't let any of the previous subscribers renew their subscriptions?

Can we expect more outages like last night/today?

Geesh some networks go down for an entire weekend :) We'll have at least one more then none for quite some time. It's been over a year since we've had any down time like we did this weekend. No worries.

The subscriber forums were not upgraded.

Yes, the Opteron was added for all of us non-special people.

gotcha...
I guess I would have expected them to let the current subscribers know in a much better manner, not one in which they would never see...
because I enter Forum Issues so often...

Socr, this decision was made months ago we left that up for quite some time... we can't leave things up forever :) Maybe stop in a bit more often :)

Maybe stop in a bit more often

The only reason I stop in the Forum Issues section is when I have a problem. Being that the forums run so smoothly, it's been at least a year since I looked in here.

Between the outage and just finding out that the PM totals are going to go up soon, I'd say it would be a gesture of courtesy to do a sticky, about things that affect everyone, at the top of each forum. The "sticky thread" that is telling people to adjust their spam filters to let the anandtech moderator emails through is a perfect example.

I hope it's another year before I find the need to stop in again.

Thanks

I don't post often but i am in here all the time... (like redbeard1 said why would i come into forum issues if i am not having any...) from a business standpoint probably your best option was to send an email out saying what the post in here said but also thank us for our support...

PS, i think it is a sad thing that this service is going away, i don't know if i will frequent as often after my subscription runs out. the ad banners on the side are just plain atrocious. I didn't care about the extra speed or the PMs it was all about no banners...
