So I have a video encode of Les Miserables in mp4, H.264 in Handbrake. The subtitles are in the video, but aren't burnt in and aren't on by default.
The first couple of times I played the file after I encoded it, the subtitles worked perfectly. However, I stopped playing it for a week and then when I went back, the subtitles no longer worked. However, after switching to VLC, the subtitles worked (and they still work, a couple of weeks on).
I have VLC 2.0.5, and the latest version of MPC-HC bundled with CCCP. The CCCP settings are at default, I don't really feel comfortable changing any of the settings without advice. The thing I want to know is why they worked in MPC-HC at first, but now don't. And how I can get them to work again in MPC-HC.
