Subdomain for Exchange OWA

the default address for outlook webaccess is http://domain.com/exchange. i'd like to have a subdomain like http://mail.domain.com.

is the proper way of creating the 'mail' subdomain is by creating a new website in IIS with a host header of mail.domain.com, then redirect it to http://domain.com/exchange?

Why don't you add a A record in DNS with http://mail.domain.com with the corresponding server ip

If you are only running 1 web site on the IIS server, I believe it should be setup as the default website. You don't have to change host headers.

I do this. I set up a web site named "http://mail.domain.com" which redirects to "https://www.domain.com/exchange". Just create a new website in IIS ...

that's what i'm doing right now. i wasn't sure if this is the 'proper' way.
